It is with regret that we have to make note of the death of our old esteemed friend and neighbor, John Hutchison. About three weeks ago Mr. Hutchison was taken sick, and, in spite of all medical aid he grew worse until last Wednesday when he peacefully passed away to the great unknown. On Thursday a large number of his old neighbors and acquaintances, some coming from a long distance, gathered a this late residence to pay their respects to him and his family, who was and is held in high esteem here. The funeral services were brief but impressive. The casket was covered with wreathes of flowers, placed there by friends of long standing. When the funeral procession started it was found that sixty vehicles were in line, and all that was mortal of our late friend was laid to rest in the cemetery at this place. Mr. Hutchison was one of the early settlers of this place and during the long years of his residence here his business transactions and daily life showed the man to be just and upright. He had held places of public trust and always acquitted himself honorably. He was a man of decided opinions and granted to others the same right. He hated deceit or hypocrisy in any form and was manly and just to all. His aged wife and two sons, with all mourning friends, have the sincere sympathy of the entire neighborhood.
