Quarter Masters Corps Graves Registration Service, Hoboken, New Jersey, July 26, 1921; Mrs. Ed Primes, Oelwein, Ia.Dear Madam:
Receipt of department shipping inquiries Form 120 executed by you under date of April 21, 1921, relative to the disposition of the remains of the late Charles H. Barnes, Pvt. Ser No. 100220 Co. B 168 Infantry is acknowledged. In accordance with your request the remains of the late soldier will be returned to the United States and delivered to your address in about ten days. Body will be shipped to you. you will be notified by telegraph in advance to enable you to make such arrangements as are deemed necessary. you are also advised that your request to have Pvt. Louis A. Barnes accompany the remains from Hoboken to its destination will be complied with by authority of Quarter Master General R.E. Shannon quarter Master officers in charge. J.F. Butter, Captain of Infantry.
