FORMER RESIDENT BURIED SATURDAY

Funeral service.for Kermit M. Craft, a former resident of, this community, was held in the Turner chapel at Cedar Rapids at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Dr. Theodore Lilley conducted the service. Burial was made in West Union cemetery.

Kermit Craft, 46, died of a gunshot wound shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday in the basement of his home, at Cedar Rapids. Coroner Robert Brosh called the shooting a suicide. Mrs. Craft, who was in the house at the time of the shooting, told police her husband had been in poor health.

Kermit Craft was born Nov. 1, 1902, in Windsor township. He was married to Florence Torson on June 30, 1925, at West Union. To this union was born a son, Gordon Dale. Mr. Craft has resided in Cedar Rapids for 25 years. He was the proprietor of a barber shop in the Union bus depot.

Surviving are his wife and son, his father, Art Craft, Hawkeye; a sister, Mrs. Millard Keith, Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Roger, Cedar Rapids, and John and Myrel both of Hawkeye.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Mizpah lodge, A.F. and A.M. Iowa Consistory, El Kahir Shrine, Eagles and the Barbers Union.
