Garret Canon Paris was born on August 13, 1971 in Wellington, Kansas. He graduated from the North Fayette High School in West Union, Iowa. He was united in marriage on September 30, 2000 to Jonica Todd in Manchester, Iowa. The couple, along with the children would make their home in Wadena, Iowa. Garret worked for Blessing Industry and for a short time as a stay-at-home Dad. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in West Union. Garret was known for his willingness to help out anyone with anything. He enjoyed woodworking in his garage, playing guitar, drawing, and tinkering with cars. Above all, Garret enjoyed spending time with his wife and kids, occasionally playing a practical joke on them.
Garret is survived by his wife, Jonica of Wadena; four daughters, Brittney Paris of Waterloo, Iowa, Aubrey Paris of Manchester, Iowa, Kimberly Paris of Wadena, and Audrey Paris, also of Wadena; a son Branden Samuel Paris of Wadena; a sister Stacey (Troy) Zietlow of Des Moines, Iowa; mother-in-law Marie Main of Centerville, Iowa; sister-in-law Amanda Main of Centerville, and nieces Isabella Zietlow, Hailey Jewell, and Alexia Jewell.
Garret was preceded in death by his grandmother Maria Gallardo Pinero, his grandmother Maysel Marie McCloud, and father-in-law Norman Main.
