Mrs. Harriet Chapman Dies

Mrs. Harriet Chapman died at 12:30 today, after a long illiness. She was one of the oldest persons in West Union, also one the earliest settlers, having come here in the fifties, and being aged eighty-seven at the time of her death. Mrs. Chapman cast her first vote last fall, being very proud to do so, although she was very infirm at the time, so that a great physical effort was required. Mrs. Chapman's brother, D.W. Tyrell Ill., has been at her home for some time past, on account of her illness. The funeral announcement is not yet made. Obituary notice next week.
