~ OBITUARIES ~
LONGTIME BUSINESSMAN INTERRED

Funeral services for Cornel Anfinson were held at Zion Lutheran Church, West Union, on Saturday, March 7. with Rev. Victor Baderschneider and Intern Harriet Danieison officiating. Interment was in the West Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Willys Fritz, Roger Chensvold, Roger Krambeer, Glenn Wilson, Alan Meyer and Steve Sindelar. Arrangements were handled by Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union.

Cornel Anfinson, son of Lars and Gurina Peterson Anfinson was born Dec. 4, 1894, in Dover Township, Fayette County. He was baptized in infancy at Stavanger Lutheran Church, rural Ossian.

Following catechism instruction, he was confirmed at East Clermont Lutheran church, rural Clermont. He attended Clermont Public Schools.

On June 24.1919. he was united in marriage to Martha Lofte in Kansas City, MO. Two daughters were born to this union.

He was co-owner of the A & R Garage in West Union for 25 years and the Standard Motor Parts for 13 years. He served in the Army during World War I and was a 65-year member of the American Legion. He was a 50-year member of the West Union Masonic Lodge #69. He was also a member of Eastern Star. Shriner's and the Shrine Clowns. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1958 and a member of the Men's Brotherhood for many years.

He had been in failing health the past three years. On Wednesday. March 4. he died at his daughter home in West Union at the age of 92 years and three months.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife. Martha in 1983: three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his two daughters. Lila Summers, West Union, and Arlene Schreiner, Beaverton. OR; two grandchildren, Connie, Mrs James Gratias, Grystal, MN. and Kim Schreiner, Aloha, OR; five great grandchildren: one brother, Clarence, West Union, nieces and nephews.
