FAYETTE NEWS.

George Greenwell, after a few days confinement to his bed, died about four o'clock Sunday morning, Feb 24. Mr. Greenwell was born in Durham county, England, Feb. 18, 1818, was married to Mary Ann Morris in 1842 and came to America in 1856. He came directly to Fayette county where he has lived ever since. The last seven years his home has been in Fayette. Mr Greenwell has been in poor health for eight years; but seemingly suffered little at the last and passed away quietly away. Mrs. Greenwell passed from this life in 1896. Of their six children only three are living: Mary and Libbie Greenwell, who are beloved members of this community, and Wm. Greenwell, of Villisca, Iowa, and who arrived on Sunday. The funeral was held in the M.E. church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Gammons officiating.
