RITES HELD FOR RALPH SUCKOW

Funeral services for Ralph Suckow were conducted by Rev. Victor Baderschneider and Intern Pastor Peter Beckstrand Friday, Oct 13, at Zion Lutheran Church, West Union. Interment was in the West Union Cemetery and pallbearers were Robert Goeller, Gary Goeller, James Kleppe, Ernie Soppe, Steve Perry and Mark Pleis. Arrangements were handled by Bumham-Wood Funeral Home.

Ralph Edward Suckow, son of Charles and Helen (Springer) Suckow, was born March 16, 1957, in West Union. He was baptized March 31,1957, at Zion Lutheran Church, West Union, and following catechism instruction was confirmed June 4, 1972, also at Zion church.

He attended school in Hawkeye and West Union, where he graduated from North High School in 1975.

On Sept. 23, 1978, he was united in marriage to Marcia Chicken at Zion Lutheran Church. They became the parents of four daughters.

He has farmed and worked at various jobs and was presently employed as a truck driver for Lynch Livestock, Waucoma.

His death occurred Tuesday, Oct 10, an accidental death by electrocution at the age of 32 years, six months and 24 days. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda, Wendy, Jennifer and Katie, Decorah; mother, Helen Suckow, West Union; five sisters, Carol, Mrs. Boyd Wolf, Oelwein; Bonnie, Mrs. Jim Goeller, Fairbank; Darlene, Mrs. Duane Pleis, Fairbank; JoAnn Suckow, Postville, and Sandra Suckow, Big Lake, Minn.; 10 nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
