Page 8 column fiveBurton O. Carr was born in Camton, Canada Nov. 21, 1830. He came to the United States in 1835; was married to Miss Mary Ann Serles (sic Lewis) Nov. 10, 1853, in New York City; came to Iowa in 1866, and died Jan.1, 1896, aged 65 years, 1 month and 13 day. He leaves to mourn his loss a mother, wife and four children, one boy and three girls, two of whom were here, one in Nebraska and one in Africa who did not get here.
