Funeral services held
for Clermont woman

Funeral services for Hannah G. Houser were held Tuesday, June 5, at l:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in "Postville. Rev. William J. Tjaden officiated. Burial was in God's Acres at Clermont.

Hannah Gladys Nelson, christened Johannah Gunda Nielsen, daughter of John and Christina (Sorensen) Nelson, was born June 18, 1890. at Ringstadt, Denmark. She died June 1, at Palmer Memorial hospital. West Union, at the age of 88 years.

Her parents came to the United State when Hannah was six months old and settled in the Quasqueton area. She received her education in the rural schools of the Quasqueton and Winthrop area.

On March 9.1910. she was married to Albert Houser. To this union a daughter was born. They fanned in the Jesup area until retiring to Postville in 1950. Mr. Houser died on May 21, 1970. Hannah moved to Clermont June of 1975.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Dolores Bennett, on May 10, 1976: two grandchildren, a great grandson, and two brothers, Harvey and LaVern Nelson.

Hannah is survived by a sister, Mrs. Sophia Hull, Jasper, AR, a grandson, John Bennett, Clermont, three granddaughters, Joann Bennett. Laguna Beach, CA; Joyce (Mrs. Duane Schotts, West Union, and Jane Bennett, Cedar Rapids: six great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren..
