Last Friday the funeral services of John Lawrence was held at the house and interment was made in the Waucoma cemetery. The Masonic fraternity had charge of the ceremonies, assisted by Rev. M.A. Frost. Mr. Lawrence was a pioneer here; was a charter member of Standard Lodge, No. 351, A.F. & A.M.; a soldier in the war of the rebellion. The G.A.R. took the position of pall bearers at the funeral. He was, Post Master at Navan for over thirty years. He had a pleasant home and an exemplary family, was widely known and will be missed from the community who knew him so well and so long.
