Funeral services for Emily L. Amundson were held Thursday, April 16, 1981 at 1:30 p.m. at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont. The Reverend Allan J. Stoa officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in East Clermont Cemetery, rural Postville

Emily Louise Amundson, daughter of Henry and Josephine (Nelson) Erickson, was born September 6, 1892 at Inwood, Iowa. She passed away April 13, 1981 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Marion Lutheran church at Gunder. Her childhood was spent on a farm near Gunder where she attended the rural school. She also attended a sewing school in Clermont.

April 13, 1910 she was married to Louie Amundson at the Marion Lutheran Church. To this union four children were born. They homesteaded near Lemon, South Dakota. After five years they moved back to Clayton County where they farmed until 1920. They then moved to a farm northwest of Clermont.

She was an active member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church and its women's organizations.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Louie, in 1960, one great grandson, and four sisters: Nora (Mrs. George Jorgenson), Gertrude (Mrs. Henry Larson), Agnes (Mrs. Henry Vellersven) and Nettie (Mrs. Earl Peake).

She is survived by a son, Louis of San Diego, CA; three daughters: Mrs. Howard (Myrtle) Kluss of Monona; Mrs. Aines (Harriet) Olson of Clermont; and Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Okey of Salt Lake City, UT; fourteen grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; and thirteen great great grandchildren.
