Elgin Echo, Thursday, 16 April 1903.
Early Monday morning, the sad news of the death of Julius Keiser, was passed among our citizens and the intelligence was received with sorrow by the friends of the family. The child's stay in this world was not of long duration, but his presence here had cast a ray of sunshine and a halo of gladness in the home into which he came, and his taking away has left sorrowing hearts.
Julius Keiser was born June 20, 1902, and died April 12, 1903, and was at the time of death nine months and twenty-three days old. Over a month ago the child was taken with a complication of whooping cough and measles and later the disease developed into catharral pneumonia, which caused death. The child suffered greatly and on Easter night, the day commemorated to the resurrection of Christ, he sank peacefully to sleep to wake no more until called into the presence of Him, who said "Suffer little children to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of Heaven."
Funeral services were held from the German Baptist church, Wednesday, April 15, at two o'clock. Rev. C. F. Stoeckman had charge of the services.
