Elgin Echo, Thur., 12 Feb. 1903.

Wm. Patter, postmaster at Eldorado, died Thursday morning, February 3. For some time Mr, Patter had been ailing and confined to his bed. Thursday morning he insisted on dressing and looking over the mail in the postoffice, imagining that it was not being taken care of properly. After being in the office a short time he became very weak and returning to his bed soon died. The funeral services were held February 7th.
