Elgin Echo, Thursday, 27 February 1908.

Edna M. (Clark) Phillips, wife of Evert N. Phillips, died at 11 o'clock Monday night at the home of her father-in-law, C. L. Phillips, where she had been brought three weeks ago to be cared for. She had been ill for about two months and was about 25 years old at the time of death. Funeral services were conducted from the Baptist church by Rev. F. Day – West Union Argo.

Mrs. Phillips will be remembered by many as a former resident of the city.
