Elgin Echo, Thursday, 24 November 1898. From the Oelwein Journal.

J. G. Hanlon, a resident of Fayette County since 1870, Died in the Hospital at Independence Saturday morning and was buried in the Catholic cemetery in Oelwein Monday. Mr. Hanlon was in business in Oelwein for a number of years with his brothers, seven or eight years ago, but for the past three years has been in constant ill health. – Oelwein Journal.
