Elgin Echo, Thursday, 1 August 1918.

Mrs. Rosina Frederick died at the home of her son Fred, east of town, Tuesday, July 30, 1918, at the advanced age of 73 years and 24 days. She was a native of Switzerland and had lived in this country for many years. Hardening of the arteries caused her death. She was a kind neighbor and loving mother and there are many who will miss her cheering words and kindly advice. She was the mother of a large family having five daughters and five sons, who survive her. Her husband and two children have preceded her to the other world. Those who are left behind are Gottfried, Fred, John, Albert and Jake, Mrs. Jake Butikofer, Mrs. Sam Lehman, Mrs. Will Schupbach, Mrs. Oscar Frieden of Elkader, and Mrs. Schlupp of Egan, South Dakota. Besides these there are many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held from the Apostolic church, south of town, Friday afternoon and the body will be interred in the cemetery there.
