Dubuque, Ia. - Mrs. Catherine Shekleton, 78, widow of William Shekleton, died Monday afternoon at 2:25 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Aloysius Schuster, 1320 Glenn Oak Street. Death was unexpected.
The remains are at the Hoffmann Mortuary, where friends may call. The funeral will be held Thursday morning to the Church of the Nativity at 8 o'clock. The remains will then be taken to St. Rose Cemetery, near Waucoma, Ia., where burial will be made.
Mrs. Shekleton was born Sept. 7, 1871, near Elkader, Ia., the daughter of John and Ann Lynch. She came to Dubuque 19 years ago. She was a Catholic and was attendant of Nativity Church, where she also was a member of the Rosary Society and Sacred Heart League.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Aloysius (Veronica) Schuster, Dubuque; one son, Vern Shekleton, also of this city; one sister, Mrs. Mike Rogers, Dubuque; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, one sister and six brothers.
