Monday services held for Bonnie Lamphier

Services for Bonnie Lamphier, 85, Fayette, were held Monday, April 18, at 11 am in Wesleyan Church, Fayette, with Rev. John Miller officiating. Burial in Lima Cemetery, rural Fayette. Becker-Milnes Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.

Bonnie died Friday, April 15, 1994 following a brief illness.

Bonnie D. Knoebel, daughter of Ed and Lone Oliver Knoebel was born Nov. 13, 1908 at Monona. She attended school in McGregor.

On Jan. 28, 1925 she was united in marriage with Joy Lamphier at Strawberry Point.

She had been employed at Loftus Restaurant, West Union, for 26 years. Following her husband’s death she continued working part time until retiring in 1978.

Bonnie was a member of Wesleyan Church of Fayette; the Happy Valley Club of Lima and Wesleyan Missionary Society.

In addition to her husband and parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Edwards; one grandson; one great-grandson; and ten brother and sisters.

Bonnie is survived by three sons, Robert A., and Jack J., both of Fayette; Harry D., Waukon; four daughters, Bonnie Kline, LaPorte City, Mabel Garcia, Oelwein; Carol Niles and Becky Ingersoll, Fayette; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gaylen Hankes, Galt, Calif., and Valetta Weir, Los Angeles, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
