CHAS. ABBEY DEAD.

Charles Abbey died at his home in Elgin February 17, 1895, and was buried Feb. 19, 1895 from the German Baptist church, Rev. Huck officiating.

Chas. Abbey was born at Elgin, Iowa, Oct. 12, 1856, and died in the same room wherein he was born, being 38 years, 4 months and 5 days old at the time of his death. His life was passed in Elgin and was therefore a part of our peaceful little hamlet and belonged not to the big bustling and cruel world outside but to us alone. He was a man against whom no one could say aught and for whom everyone had a good word and a tender feeling. Charles Abbey was never married, but leaves to mourn him an aged mother, several brothers and sisters and a host of warm friends.
