IN MEMORIAM EDNA M. W. FAY

Edna Mildred Winters Fay was born May 15, 1892 at Wanwatosa, Wisconsin, where she lived with her parents until August 16, 1911. On the latter day she was married to Miram Fay, of Timber Lake, S. D., where they have lived since, the greater part of the time in Fayette county.

To this union two children were born, Arthur, who died in infancy, and Helen Elizabeth, who is one and one half years old.

She was a kind, loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. Although her health seemed very poor for the past six months, she did her level best to be up and around. Her hands were ever busy and her mind was always alert to do something for the interest of others.

She was naturally talented as a musician. Although she never took lessons she played to the contentment and pleasure of all her friends since she was a young girl. The last piece of music she played at home was “In the Sweet Bye and Bye.”

When a young girl she united with the Underwood Memorial Baptist church of Wanwatosa. Later she joined the Methodist church. She lived a good Christian life and when the end came, October 26, 1916, at 2:40 p.m. she was prepared to meet her Savior. She slept from 3 o’clock Thursday morning until 2:40 in the afternoon when she breathed her last. On last Thursday morning the doctor announced that she had infantile paralysis. She had no symptoms of it until then.

She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, a little daughter Helen, a mother-in-law, a father, mother, four sisters and many friends. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery, Independence, Iowa
