OBITUARY
Henry Sovine Craft was born in Greenbrier county, Virginia, Feb. 12, 1845. He moved to Illinois when a small child and lived there until the fall of 1851., when he came to Fayette county, Iowa and lived here all his life with the exception of a short time in Marsfield, Wis., with his son, where he passed away Sept. 1, 1929, at the age of eighty-four years, six months and twenty days.

He was united in marriage to Margaret Josephine Hitch on October 30, 1867, at West Union, Iowa. He wife preceded him in death Sept. 16, 1916. Nine children were born to them of whom five survive. They are John, of West Union, Dan, of Brainard, George, Perry and Arthur of Marshfield, Wis.

In 1898 he was converted and became a member of the Baptist church at West Union.

Besides his sons, there remains thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two brothers to mourn their loss. He will be sadly missed by those who loved him, but we are comforted by the thought that he has found rest and comfort that he has found rest and comfort unfailing in the other world. A true Christian father, we are sure he rests safely in the arms of Jesus, at last.

Funeral services were held in the Baptist church at Brainard on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. J. J. Snyder of Elgin. Interment was made in the family lot at the Brainard cemetery.
