Mrs. Gillett enjoyed fairly good health until the year 1917 when she was troubled with rheumatism and was also operated on for appendicitis at the Lutheran hospital at Hampton, Iowa.

On the 14th of June she entered St. Josephs Hospital at Chippawa Falls where she underwent an operation the next day, Saturday June 15th. She came out of the operation fine, but in the morning June 16th her heart began to fail and at 2:30 p. m. of the same day she was called out of this vale of tears into the heavenly home of peace and rest.

She was a true wife to her husband and a loving mother to her three children: and an active member of the Evanglical Lutheran church and its Ladies Aid. The days of her earthly pilgrimage were: 41 years, 2 months, 20 days.

She leaves to mourn her death her bereaved husband; three now motherless children, Alfred, Winfred and Ida Mae. Also her aged mother, three brothers, Fred, Walter and Alvin; two sisters, Emma and Esther; many other relatives and a large circle of friends.
