Strawberry Point - Funeral services were held in the Gill Chapel in Strawberry Point, and at County Corners Cemetery, on Wednesday, August 15, for Mrs. Minnie Steele, 86. Mrs. Steele died at the Moser Nursing Home in Strawberry Point on August 13. Born in Wisconsin on April 6, 1870 she was the daughter of Edward and Jane (Kissel) Moyle. She married Thomas Steele in Manchester and they had four children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and four brothers. Surviving are her four children: Mrs. Floyd Farnum (Pearl) of Lovelock, Nevada; Robert Steele of Aurora, Iowa; John Steele of Syracuse, New York, and Oscar Steele, Arlington, Iowa. The Reverend Wayne Carlson was the officiating pastor and the Gill Funeral Service made the arrangements.

Although this obit says she & Thomas had 4 children, the obit of Thomas indicates they had at least 3 others who preceded Thomas in death.

County Corners cemetery is located in the far south-western corner of Clayton co. Iowa.
