OBITUARY OF MRS. HENRY TOPP

Wilhelmina Augusta Marks was born in Germany on October 18,1869. She came to America in the year 1886 and was married to Henry Topp in April 1888 in the town of Sumner.

Seven children were born to this union, four of whom have preceded her in death. Three surviving are; Otto Topp of Dubuque, Ernest Topp of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Henrietta Barton of Cardiff, Calif. Her husband passed away in Elgin on April 14, 1933.

Mr. and Mrs. Topp came to Elgin in May of 1906 from West Union. Mr. Topp was in business here, operating a blacksmith shop until his death. Mrs. Topp remained in Elgin until she could no longer live alone. At that time she became a patient at the County Hospital until her passing on Wednesday, May 22, 1957.

Services were conducted at the Muehlethaler Funeral Chapel in Elgin on Friday, May 24 with the Rev. H. John Vanderbeck officiating. Interment was made in the Elgin cemetery.
