Tuesday at 10 a. m. Mrs. Cora Van
Pelt received a message from Pine
River, Minn., to the effect that her father,
Thomas Morrison, had passed
away. No particulars given. Mrs. Van
Pelt at once made arrangements to
go to Pine River and left on the afternoon
train. Mr. Morrison was one of
he pioneer citizens of Oelwein and
was widely known in this section. He
was sixty-eight years of age and had
resided here till last spring when he
went to Minnesota to benefit his
health which had been failing somewhat.
But his death was unexpected.
