B. F. Little, an aged pioneer of this section, passed away at his home in this city Sunday afternoon at six o'clock following an illness of two weeks. He had been about the streets till his recent sickness, and seemed to possess the strength sufficient for a number of years, but failed rapidly during the past few days.
He was born in Virginia, October 2, 1833 and in an early day, 1852, came to this county residing in the vicinity of Arlington. He moved to Oelwein
August 3, 1892 and for twenty-one years has made this city his place of residence. For a number of years he was county surveyor, and he also acted as city engineer.He is survived by three children, two daughters, Jennie M. Little and Mrs. Edith M. Durin of Cedar Rapids, and son, B. B. Little, of this city.
The daughters were visiting in Tacoma, Washington and came a few days ago in response to a wire.
The last services will be held from the Christian church at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
