Died: Friday forenoon, Oct. 28, 1898,
Chester H. Scoles, at his home in this
city after an illness of two weeks, with
inflammation of the bowels, aged 8 years,
6 months and 20 days. Deceased was a
dearly beloved manly little fellow, respected
by all for his obedience.
Funeral services were held Sunday at
2 p. m., from the house on Fenner street,
Rev. Triem officiated. Funeral sermon
from Luke 8:52. The 7th Grade
attended the funeral in a body, accompanied
by their teacher, Mrs. Boyd,
each carrying beautiful floral design.
The following little class mates were
the chosen pall bearers: Robert Burns,
Robert Holroyd, Ray Conaway, Dan
Sullivan, Willie Holden and Clyde
Bells. There was a very large attendance
at the funeral. Sympathy is
extended to the bereft family.—Mrs. Ethel Miller, of Knox, Indiana,
and Mrs. Scoles, Sr. from Knoxville,
Iowa, were summoned to Oelwein by
the illness of little Chester Scoles whose
