Mrs. Julia T. Shelton, wife of James
Shelton, died at her home in Oran
township February 22nd at five o'clock
a. m. Mrs. Shelton has been afflicted
for sometime past with diabetis. She
was born in Beloit, Wis., November 16,
1851, being at the time of her death
forty-seven years of age. March 17,
1872 she married James Shelton with
whom she has ever since lived. Mrs.
Shelton is survived by her mother
Mrs. Luther, one sister and one brother,
besides her husband and five children,
William, Charles, Freddie, Forest
and Lindsay. Burial occurred
Thursday in Oelwein cemetery. Funeral
services were conducted at the
Baptist church by Rev. Powell, the
text being: "Let me die the death of
the righteous and let my last end be
like unto his."
