Died, October 5, 1897, at the home
of her son, Harvey Bowdish, Fairbank
township, Buchanan county, Maranda
Bowdish, aged 81 years, 11 mouths
and 15 days. Deceased was born in
Milford, Otsego county, New York, in
1815, and was married to John Bowdish
January 4, 1837. He died 14
years ago. She had been a resident
of Iowa since 1870. She joined the
Methodist church in her young days
and lived a constant Christian life.
She was a loving mother, a kind
neighbor, and will be sadly missed by
all. Funeral services were conducted
by the Baptist minister of Fairbank.
Mother was lovingly laid to rest in
Oran cemetery. Harvey Bowdish,
with whom she lived, Emma, wife of
Frank Annette, Willie, of Iowa Falls
and Mrs. Nellie Weeks, are the children
who mourn her loss.
