Emily F. Shadle was born December 2, 1879 at
Manchester, Iowa where she grew to womanhood.
In the early flush of maidenhood she gave her young
life to God, uniting with the Baptist Church of her
native city. She fully exemplified the principles of
the Christian religion by a steadfast walk with God.
Removing to this city some months ago, she united
with the Church of Christ of this place, as long as she
able was a faithful attendant. She was married to J. A.
Anders of Oelwein, May 25, 1899, with whom she
lived happily until death called her home, April 29, 1900.
She leaves husband, five brothers, three sisters and
many friends to mourn her early departure. The
funeral services were conducted from the Church of Christ
by Elder Stark, on Tuesday morning before a large
concourse of friends and relatives, after which the
remains were taken to the "silent city of the dead"
and gently interred, to await the general resurrection
of the just.
