Harrison Butler 1850 - 1909

BUTLER, MEIKLE, MESKELL

Harison Butler was born in Monroe,
Wisconsin, April 16, 1850, and
passed from this life July 24, 1909,
aged 59 years, three months and eight
days. He was united in marriage to
Miss Mary Meikle, January 3, 1871,
and to this union six children were
born, of whom six are still living.
Mrs. Meikle Butler was called to
the home beyond, October 11, 1880.
He was united in marriage to Miss
Nancy Meskell, September 12, 1883.
To this union six children were born,
five of whom survive him.
Mr. Butler has resided in this community
since he was three years of age, with the
age, with the exception of a short
time passed in Colorado, from which
place he returned about a year ago.
He was employed in the C. G. W.
shops, and five months ago while at
work there he received an injury.
Since that time he has steadily failed
till death claimed him.
In 1896 he was united with the
Christian church, and he held the office
of deacon most of the time since.
He was regular in his church attendance,
and lived a consistent Christian
life. He was kind and affectionate
in his home, and was loved
and revered by the family circle. He
was a kind friend and a good neighbor.
He leaves to mourn his demise
a loving and devoted wife, nine children,
two brothers, two sisters, and
numerous relatives and friends. The last
services occurred from the Christian
church Tuesday afternoon, and
were attended by a large concourse.
