John Becker, one of the old settlers of this city
died Sunday after a short illness. He had attained
about three score years and ten allotted to man.
Born in Germany he came to this country forty
years ago and was subsequently united in marriage
to Miss Minna Neland who with four sons and a
daughter survive to mourn his loss. He had been a
resident of this locality for over a quarter of a
century and was well known throughout this section.
He was a member of the Lutheran church and was a
man of kind disposition who had many friends. In
his family relations he was an indulgent husband and
father. For a number of years he had resided on his
farm one east of the city. The funeral services will be
held today from his late residence and from the
Lutheran church. Rev. Zeilinger officiating.
