James C. Coonrod (1890-1958)

Funeral services have been set for James C. Coonrod, 67, a resident of Oelwein for the past 39 years.

The 2 p.m. services will be held Friday at Hintz Chapel, Dr. M. B. Green officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Coonrod, a machinist at the Chicago Great Western Railway shops, died while at work Wednesday at 9 a.m.

He is survived by his wife, Matie; one son Ray H. Coonrod, Des Moines; four grandchildren, Rickey and Kathy Coonrod, Des Moines, and Peggy and Penny Coonrod, Clermont, Florida, and one sister, Mrs. George (Nellie) Baldwin, Elmore, Minnesota.

Mr. Coonrod, who resided at 205 Eighth Avenue, S. W., in Oelwein, was born in Ravenben, Arkansas, October 9, 1890, the son of John O. and Ida (Hewitt) Coonrod.

The body lies in state at Hintz Funeral Home.
