F. W. Miller, familiarly known as "Doc" Miller,
54 years of age and claiming Milwaukee as
his former residence, later Waterloo, passed
away at the city hospital Tuesday October 28.
He had been a resident of Oelwein for the
past eight years working in the C.G.W. yards.
He was a somewhat peculiar character and up
till within a year or two carried on his person
a large roll of bills, declining to deposit in the
banks, but at his demise he had about $600
in a safety deposit box of a city bank.
He was a life member of the Waterloo Aerie of
the Fraternal Order of Eagles, of Waterloo and
delegation of eighteen from that aerie came
to be present at the last services held from
Hintz Brothers undertaking parlors Friday
afternoon, conducted by Dr. Cleworth. A service
was held at the cemetery under the direction
of the Eagles. Flowers were furnished by that
order. Mr. Miller had no known relatives.
