Fayette, Sept. 13 - Funeral services were held Thursday morning at the St. Francis Catholic church in Fayette for Mrs. Carrie Dugan, 93 years, who died on Monday, Sept 9th in Cedar Rapids, after a lingering illness. On Friday preceeding her death she fell in her home breaking her leg. Burial was in St. Francis cemetery north of Fayette.

The first white child born at McGregor Landing on Feb. 3, 1864, she was the daughter of pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Teets, who operated the Mississippi ferry many years. Mrs. Dugan lived in or near Fayette until about 15 years ago. Her parents were steward and matron of the Fayette County Home many years ago. She was married to William Dugan and they farmed for many years between Fayette and Randalia. Mr. Dugan was killed in a train accident in 1911.

Surviving are two sons, William of Marion and Paul of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Bailey and Mrs. Willie D. Carr, both of Cedar Rapids; 4 grand-children and 5 great-grandchildren.
