Ramona B. Moore

Ramona B. Moore, 71, a lifetime Elgin resident, died Saturday, February 17, 2001 at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union, following a brief illness. She was born April 30, 1929 in Highland Twp., to Fred and Myrtle (Knudtson) Butikofer.

She was united in marriage to William Moore on August 13, 1946 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, IA. Ramona dedicated her life to her family and friends. She would help out with any task no matter how monumental. She was a loving, non-judgmental, selfless person who would sit and listen to you at a moment's notice. She loved nature and brisk walks. She was an accomplished seamstress who helped others with her talent. The Elgin Lutheran Church, Legion Auxiliary and Elgin City Council all benefited from her countless hours in volunteer service.

Survivors include her 4 children, Melissa Moore and fiance, Bruce Morrow, Minneapolis, MN, Myrna Moore and husband Martin Liefhebber, Toronto, Canada, Kevin Moore and wife Gayle, Elgin, and Kent Moore and wife Brenda, Elgin; eight grandchildren, Alice Moore, New York, Amanda Moore, Fayette, Rita Liefhebber, Toronto, Jesse, Erin, Dyland, Natalie and Dakota Moore all of Elgin, and a brother, Francis and his wife Shirley Butikofer, Elgin.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Elgin Lutheran Church in Elgin, Iowa, with the Rev. Galen Kuhens. Interment was in Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa.

Casket bearers were Melvin, Dale, Larry and Lennis Moore; Matt Erickson, Dennis Knudtson. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Moore, Alan Moore and Jason Butikofer.
