MAN,WOMAN KILLED IN FOGGY CRASHES

Two elderly Dubuqueland residents were killed in fog-linked accidents yesterday. Dead are Albert Hulbert,74,of West Union, Iowa and Mrs. Blanche Ferris, 73, of Lancaster, Wisconsin. *March 3, 1970*

One accident occurred at 1:30 p.m. on a county black top four miles east of West Union, when Hulbert pulled onto the fog-shrouded road from his farm driveway and into the path of a semi driven by Kenneth Quandt, 23, of Maynard, Iowa. The semi struck the left front of the car and pushed it down the highway for a short distance, the Iowa highway Patrol said. It is the second fatality in Fayette county this year. Services for Hulbert are pending at the Burnham-Wood Funeral Home in West Union. Surviving are his widow, Iva; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Bock of
West Union; three grandchildren; a brother, Myron of Cedar Rapids and two sisters, Mrs. Ray Mann of Hawkeye, Iowa, and Mrs. Hazel Munger of Davenport, Iowa.
