JACKIE SIMPSON WAS KILLED BY A CAR
MAYNARD—Jackie Duane Simpson, eldest son of Oscar and Marjorie Fauser Simpson was born at Fayette, Iowa, on January 18, 1933, and on Thursday night, April 30, passed away from results of injuries received in an automobile accident that same day. When but a small child he came with his parents to a farm near Westgate, Iowa, and came to Maynard with his parents in the summer of 1938. That fall he entered the first grade of the Maynard Consolidated School, being a member of the third grade at the time of his death. He was a friendly, fan-loving child, always clowning and full of life. His friendly " HI " will be missed by his neighbors, schoolmates and teachers.
He was a regular attendant of the Methodist Sunday school ever since coming to Maynard, his favorite hymn being “Jesus Loves Me." At the time of his death his age was 9 years, 3 months and 12 days. He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, two sisters and two brothers, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p. m. at the Methodist church, Rev. C. E. Mason officiating. Interment was in Long Grove cemetery.
Bearers were four uncles Ernest, Max and Arthur Fauser and Kenneth Robinson, and two friends Jack Thomas and Clyde Sykes.
