OBITUARY OF MYRL MARIE PUFFETT
Myrl Marie Puffett, daughter of Harry Martin and Jenny Hines was born August 17, 1900, near Waterloo, Iowa, and died March 25, 1965; at Volga.
After graduation from high school she sought further education at Upper Iowa University where she attended for two years. She taught school for a few years around the Edgewood area.
On June 15, 1921, she was united in marriage to Vern C. Puffett at Independence. To this union were born two sons, Richard and Charles.
She spent the greater part of her life on a farm near Strawberry Point, moving to Volga about eleven years ago.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and The American Legion Auxiliary of Volga.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Vern C. and one sister, who died in infancy.
Survivors include her sons Richard, at home and Charles of Solon, Iowa; one grandson Bernard; one granddaughter, Vicki of Solon, Iowa; a cousin, Clifford Smith of Kalamazoo, Mich.; an uncle, Ora Hines of Winthrop; and two aunts.
Memorial services were held at the Methodist Church, Volga, with Rev. Herbert Clyde Shaffer in charge. Gary Jellings was soloist, with Mrs. Fred Gernand at the organ.
Casket bearers were Luke Little, Stanley Everitt, George Belden, William Wilker, Dewey Farmer and Leon McTaggert. Flower bearers were Mrs. George Belden and Mrs. W. Wilker.
