Connie Corrine Kohls, 61, Clermont, Iowa, died Saturday, January 16, 2010, at the Winneshiek Medical Center, Decorah, Iowa, following a long illness. Connie was born on July 2, 1948, in West Union, Iowa, to Doyle and Opal (Howard) Baker. She graduated from Valley High School with the class of 1966.

Connie was united in marriage to John Johnson. Two daughters, Lisa and Heather, were born to this union. Connie was united in marriage to Charles "Charlie" Kohls on July 5, 2008, at the West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, Iowa.

Connie was an avid coca-cola collector and attended many coca-cola conventions. She spent her free time shopping, going to garage sales and searching for collectables. She enjoyed doing home crafts, camping, golfing, and traveling, which included a few trips south for the winter. She also enjoyed living with Charlie in their new home. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially her two new grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Charles "Charlie" Kohls of Clermont; two daughters, Lisa (Peter) Hornung, Ottawa, KS, Heather Johnson (Craig Wall), Fort Atkinson; two grandchildren, Abigail and Gabriel Hornung; stepchildren; Heidi (Mike) Dickman, Danny Kohls, Diane (Mike) Baker, Shelly (Mitch) Espinosa; several step grandchildren; one brother, Ronald (Marlene) Baker, Clermont and many other family and friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Opal Baker.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at 11:00 am at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, Iowa. The Rev. Dwight Albers will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wadena, Iowa.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010, from 4-8 p.m. at the Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clermont, Iowa, and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clermont, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
