Funeral services for Harry Gunderson were held Thursday, Oct. 8, 1981 at 10:30 a.m. at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont. The Rev. Allan J. Stoa officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont.

Harry Gunderson, son of Hans and Rosina (Groth) Gunderson, was born September 20, 1894 near Clermont. He died October 5, 1981 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

He was baptized October 14, 1894 and confirmed October 17, 1909 at the East Clermont Lutheran Church. He attended the rural schools near Clermont.

February 20, 1920 he was married to Jelena Olson. They were the first couple to be married at the West Clermont Lutheran Church. To this union three sons were born. They farmed near Monona, Postville and Clermont. In 1955 they retired and moved to Clermont.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Mrs. Edwin (Bertina) Olson. Surviving besides his wife, Jelena, are three sons, Lyle of Clermont, James of Cedar Rapids, and Ronald of Davenport, 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Harry (Genevieve) Stolle, Sr., of West Union.

He was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizens of Clermont.
