John S. Stirk 1914-1950

John Samuel Stirk, son of Lulu and
Mason Stirk, was born in Raymondville,
Mo., June 3, 1914. They lived in
Missouri until 1920 when they moved
to Oelwein, Iowa.
He attended public school here until
his health became so impaired, he was
unable to attend.
In 1936, he underwent an operation at
University Hospital, Iowa City. He has
been in ill health since that time.
In October, 1947, he was admitted to the
State Hospital in Independence, where he
remained until his death, August 28.
His mother and one sister Helen preceded
him in death.
He is survived by his father, Mason Stirk
of Tipton, two brothers, Roy and Mason Jr.
and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Ryker and
Mrs. Grace Youngquist of the Tri-Cities.
Interment was in Woodlawn cemetery.
