Services Held For Mrs. Joseph Olson

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at East Clermont Lutheran Church, for Mrs. Joseph T. Olson, who died at her home in Clermont, July 19, following a lingering illness. The Rev. Clarence Johnson officiated. Schutte's was in charge of arrangements.

Lillian Irene Olson was born June 5, 1894 in rural Clermont, Fayette County, the daughter of Knut and Christina (Ostlie) Kittleson. She was baptized and confirmed in the East Clermont Lutheran Church. She received her education in the Clermont public schools.

She was united in marriage to Joseph T. Olson, February 8, 1917. The couple farmed in the vicinity until 1947 when they retired and moved to Clermont. Mrs. Olson was active in the church and an honorary member of the ALCW.

Surviving are her three sons, Irvin, of Great Falls, Montana; Lyle of Clermont; Clifford of Postville and a daughter Chrystol, (Mrs. Ted R. Lovely) of North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Also, a sister, Clara Helgerson of Clermont, and a brother, Clifford Kittleson of Decorah. There are 12 grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Joseph T. on March 19, 1954, [a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lyle (Genevieve Peters) Olson in 1952], a brother, Henry Kittleson and a sister Clara who died in infancy.

Burial was in the East Clermont Cemetery.
