Arthur Strong was born Nov. 2,
1880, the son of Frank and Sarah
Strong, at Stanley. He died Dec. 5,
1950 after a short illness. _
On Nov. 17, 1903 he married
Fannie Mangan who preceded him
in death in 1948. They lived in
Stanley for several years and then
moved to Oelwein where he was
employed by the CGW until his
retirement in 1948.
Survivors include his children,
Mrs. Leo Meier, Hazleton and a
son, John F. Strong. Long Beach,
Calif. Five grandchildren and two
brothers, Richard of Jackson, Wyo.,
and Kyle of Oelwein; and one sister,
Mrs. Ray Brady of Donna.
Tex., also survive. One sister, Bertha
Short, and a brother. Benjamin,
also preceded him in death.
Requiem mass was offered at
Sacred Heart church Dec. 9 with
the Rev. E. J. O'Hagan officiating.
Burial was at Woodlawn with the
Brant funeral home in charge of
the arrangements.
