Oelwein, Howard A. Green, died in a Springfield, Mo., hospital. He was 60 years of age.
Green's body was cremated in Missouri. The family has asked that donations be made to the cancer fund, in Mr. Green's name.
Howard Green lived in Oelwein most of his life, where he was employed by the CGW railroad and later, at Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo.
He is survived by his wife, the former Arlene Barton; daughters Mrs. Dan (Sharyl) Kirby, Boone;
Mrs. Valerie Crandall, Oklahoma City, Okla; sons Larry of Seymour, Mo., Thomas of Kansas City, Mo., and Lynn of Rochelle, Ill; his father, Arthur H. Green, Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Evelyn) Lindstrum, Westgate; Mrs. James
(Henrietta) Bryan, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Mrs. Ben (Ethel) Sims, Hazleton; and 10
grandchildren.
