William J. Zierjack 1889-1955

William J. Zierjack, son of Chris
and Marie Miller Zierjack, was
born west of Oelwein on June 15,
1889. He was baptized at the Buck
Creek Lutheran church and confirmed
at Zion Lutheran, Oelwein.
In 1929, he married Marion Jeffries
who died in March, 1939.
He served in World War I and
had been in poor health since. For
the past 16 years he was cared for
by his sister, Marie. Last June he
fell and was taken to Veterans
hospital in Iowa City where he
died Monday, Nov. 21, 1955.
Survivors are one brother, Albert,
Fairbank, besides his sister,
Marie, Oelwein.
Funeral services were conducted
at the Brant funeral home by
the Rev. H. E. Dieter on Nov. 23.
Burial was at Woodlawn.
He was preceded in death by his
parents and one sister, Mrs. Neida
Weaver.
