Christian Bahe 1833-1908

The death of Chrsitian Bahe occurred
Monday evening a 7:40 at his home
in this city after, a lingering illness
of cancer of the throat. The last services
will occur from the Lutheran
church Thursday afternoon.
He was born in Germany Aueust 29,
1833 and came to this country in early
youth locating in Illinois. Forty three
years ago he came to this section,
and has been a resident ever
since. He located on a farm and remained
on it all the active years of
his life, coming into Oelwein but a
few years ago.
He is survived by his wife and five
children—Henry, August, Fred, Mrs
E. A. Kraft and Louise, and was a
Kind husband and father During his
serious illness since July 10, since he
has been confined to his bed, he has
had the most faithful attention and
the best medical aid. His wife and
children have been constantly at bis
bedside. He was a man who made
and retained friends, and sympathy is
expressed to tbe bereaved family in
their loss.
