Maria Falbo, daughter of Antonio
Falbo and Theresa Pirillo
was born in Longobucco, Italy,
November 16, 1892. She was united
in marriage with Frank Aiello,
also of Longaibucco, Italy on October
8, 1910.
On March 31, 1912, Mr. and Mrs.
Aiello arrived in America and came
to Oelwein where they made
their home until the present time.
To Mr. and Mrs. Aieilo, were
born six children. Rachel, who was
born in Longobucco, Italy, Dominic,
Theresa, Anthony, Albert
and Mary, all born in Oelwein.
Mrs. Maria. Aiello passed away
in the company of all her family
at Mercy Hospital on Monday
morning, May 23, at 12;30. Services
were held at Sacred Heart
Church Wednesday, May 25, with
Rev. Fr. O'Hagen officiating. Burial
was in Woodlawn cemetery.
Angelo Trocino read "The Last
Farewell" at the cemetery on behalf
of the Italians.
Pall bearers were Joe Stasi,
Dominic Greco, James Pirillo,
Charles Grasso, Anthony Aiello,
and Louis Greco. Flower girls
were Yolanda Sparano, Minnie
Sparano, Theresa Greco, Eleanor
Pirillo, Priscilla Fasano, Marguerite
Aiello, Mary Rizzo, Ann Rose
Aversa, Angeline Leo, Victoria
Allessio, Josephine Pirillo, Mary
Grasso, Frances Rubino, Grace
Russo, Minnie Leo and Carrie
Greco.
Friends and relatives from Des
Moines who attended the services
were Mr. and Mrs. John Gernell
and daughter, Rose, Mrs. Pete Nigro,
Mrs. Leonard Grasso, Mrs. James
Berardi and Mr. Joseph Tursi.
She leaves to mourn, her husband,
Frank Aiello, sons, Dominic,
Anthony, and Albert and three
daughters, Mrs. John Stasi, Theresa
and Mary.
Her son-in-law, John Stasi, three
grandchildren, Rose, Catherine and
Samuel Stasi, three brothers, Angelo
Falbo in South America, Jasper and
John Falbo, both of Longobucco, Italy
also remain. She leaves a host of
nephews and nieces in both Italy and
South America.
