DIED—At his home in - Oelwein,
Iowa, Aug. 6,1888; Mr. George Miller,
aged 72 years 3 days. Deceased was
an unmarried man well known in this
vacinity for more than twenty years.
He was born in Wales, Erie Co., N. Y.
Aug. 3,1816. He moved to Illinois
about 32 years ago and came to Iowa
about 28 years ago. For some time
past he has been unwell, i. e. not
strong or robust. But he was stronger
than most men of his age until a few
days before his death. He was
quite generally respected, not so much
for any gifts he possessed above his
fellow creatures, but for his plainness
of life, high sense of moral responsibility
and his devotion to what he
deemed to be right. He was honest,
an element lacking in many who profess
greater virtues. He seemed to prize
kind words and actions more than outward
profession. "Being old and full
of years, he was gathered unto his
people." Funeral services by the writer.
Burial in Otsego Cemetery. B. F. Paul
